History

Eight centuries in one home

From sweeping gardens to a timeless cloister, Mosteiro de Landim carries centuries of history and tradition.

  1. 12th c.

    The founding

    The Monastery of Santa Maria de Landim is born, home to the Canons Regular of St. Augustine.

  2. 1770

    The dissolution

    The royal charter of King José I ends monastic life at Landim.

  3. 1775

    The deed

    The Monastery passes into the family's hands, an inheritance now 250 years old.

  4. Today

    Ten generations

    A family home open to those who celebrate: weddings, events, visits and harvests.
